The lighting soft touch control pad with an outline of the harvester makes it easy to select which lights you want to use. A master off switch allows all of them to be turned off at the end of the night, but remembers the combination that was on the next time lights are needed. POWER DESIGNED FOR CONSTANT HIGH LOADS

The FR Forage Cruiser line benefits from productive FP Industrial Cursor 13, Cursor 16 and V20 engines. All feature ECOBlue™ HI-eSCR engine technology (except for the FR850) for Tier 4B compliance. The FR480 and FR550 use proven FPT Cursor 13 engines similar to those used in many dependable New Holland tractors and combines. These engines, however, have been specifically tuned to the constant high loads experienced during harvesting forage, and also have almost instantaneous transient response to handle sudden changes in loads without stopping or plugging.

DIESEL OF THE YEAR

The FR650 and FR780 use the larger FPT Cursor 16 engine, which was recently awarded “Diesel of the Year” by Diesel Magazine. Like its smaller brother the C13, these powerful engines are tuned to be the beating heart of a very productive harvesting machine while also sipping fuel and DEF in the smallest possible quantities.

The new FR920 is powered by the all-new V20 8-cylinder V-layout engine developed by FPT Industrial. This mighty beast delivers 911 max horsepower and more than 3,000 ft-lbs of maximum torque to have you steaming up and down fields at high speed.

ECOBLUE™ HI-ESCR TECHNOLOGY FOR TIER 4B COMPLIANCE

To meet regulations, the emission controls on diesel engines must manage two separate components of the exhaust stream—particulates and nitrogen oxides (NOx). New Holland FR engines are engineered and tuned to produce very few particulates (basically unburned fuel). This leaves the emission system with one main job—clean up the NOx that is created by the high combustion temperatures.

The proven ECOBlue™ technology uses AdBlue to transform the harmful nitrogen oxides contained in the exhaust gas into harmless water and nitrogen. This after-treatment system is separate from the engine which means the engine only breathes clean, fresh air. The benefit? Clean-running, powerful units that offer improved performance and enhanced fuel economy.

EFFICIENT POWER TRANSFERNew Holland FR Forage Cruiser SP Forage Harvesters FR650

New Holland’s in-line concept transmits power efficiently from the engine to the driven parts, and ultimately to the cutterhead and ground. The main gearbox splits engine power two ways: to the main clutch to drive the chopping components, and to the hydraulic and hydrostatic systems. The gear driveline allows each component to turn at the most efficient RPM for best performance. In use since the original FR introduction in 2007, the gearbox has a reputation for bulletproof reliability. The FR920 gearbox has a larger-diameter input shaft and improved bevel gear set to reliably transmit the higher horsepower of this model.

DIRECT DRIVELINE EFFICIENCY

The single drive belt transmits 100% of the available power to the cutterhead, crop processor, and blower for ultimate forage chopping efficiency. The FR650 through FR920 are fitted with heavy-duty 9HB V-belt drives to transfer every last drop of performance. The main drive clutch is easily serviced, if needed, right from ground level.

DOUBLE DRIVE

This feature adds a second hydrostatic drive system that drives the header independently from the feedrolls. This arrangement allows the operator to change the header speed separately from the feedroll speed to fine-tune feeding in tough crop conditions. Double Drive is standard on FR650 through FR920 models and optional on FR480 and FR550.
